My winter internship at Multi Level Group combined a structured Oracle Database curriculum on Linux virtual machines with product delivery for Autousata, MLG's automotive marketplace. Alongside the database and infrastructure fundamentals, I took Autousata's interface from written requirements to a live deployment.

Internship Scope

Database and infrastructure

  • Oracle Database internals and teller-machine architecture, covered hands-on on Linux virtual machines rather than only in theory
  • Core DBA tasks: instance configuration, basic backup and recovery, and access control
  • Infrastructure and security modules documented in LaTeX for internal reference

Product work on Autousata

  • UI/UX implementation across the marketplace's core buying, selling, and browsing flows
  • Functional requirements and business documentation, used by the rest of the team
  • The Vercel deployment, from build configuration through to a live, shareable build

Delivery Path

  1. Starting with the database side

    The first stretch was Oracle Database and teller-machine architecture on Linux virtual machines, before any production-adjacent work began.

  2. Writing documentation alongside it

    Each infrastructure and security module got written up in LaTeX right after it was covered, rather than reconstructing notes from memory later.

  3. Moving into Autousata's interface

    Requirements written earlier in the internship turned into working UI/UX, iterating directly against the live buying, selling, and browsing flows.

  4. Getting the build live

    The Vercel deployment was set up and maintained so the build stayed live and shareable for the rest of the internship.

Problems & Handling

The role required balancing an unfamiliar Oracle and Linux curriculum with active product delivery on Autousata under the same internship schedule.

Both tracks had real deadlines, and the database material was genuinely new territory next to the product work.

Mornings went to structured DBA study and documentation, afternoons to Autousata implementation, so the context-switching happened once a day instead of constantly.

Both tracks stayed on schedule: the documentation set and the live Autousata build were both delivered within the internship window.

  • Autousata went from requirements to a live, shareable build during the internship, giving the rest of the MLG team something concrete to react to.
  • The database and infrastructure documentation became a reusable internal reference rather than one-off notes.
